The feeding guide is only a recommendation for adult dogs with normal metabolism and should be adjusted with your veterinarian’s help to ensure proper body condition. Feed puppies, according to the feeding chart, from 8 weeks until 20-26 weeks depending on the breed. Amounts being fed at 20-26 weeks should be sufficient for the lifetime of your dog pending no dramatic changes in activity. For gestation, feed approximately 50% more during the last month of gestation and feeding amounts can be from 50% more to three times the feeding directions depending on litter size.
