Amounts being fed at 20-26 weeks should be sufficient for the lifetime of your dog pending no dramatic changes in activity. FEEDING GUIDE:

Average pet cats should be fed 15-25 kilocalories per pound of ideal body weight. Most cats require a very small amount of food to maintain their body weight. Typically kittens from 8 weeks to 6 months of age will need about double the number of calories per body weight as an adult. At and after 6 months, the adult feeding guidelines can be followed. Pregnant queens will need approximately 30-50% more calories during the 2 months of gestation, and during lactation will require approximately double the adult recommendations. Talk to your veterinarian about the appropriate amount of calories based on your cat’s unique lifestyle.
