FEEDING GUIDE:

The feeding guide is only a recommendation for adult dogs with normal metabolism and should be adjusted with your veterinarian’s help to ensure proper body condition. Feed puppies according to the feeding chart, which is roughly twice the adult feeding chart, from 8 weeks until 20-26 weeks depending on the breed. Amounts being fed at 20-26 weeks should be sufficient for the lifetime of your dog pending no dramatic changes in activity. For gestation, feed approximately 50% more during the last month of gestation and feeding amounts can be from 50% more to three times the feeding directions depending on litter size.

FEEDING GUIDE:

Average pet cats should be fed 15-25 kilocalories per pound of ideal body weight. Most cats require a very small amount of food to maintain their body weight. Typically, kittens from 8 weeks to 6 months of age will need about double the number of calories per body weight as an adult. At and after 6 months, the adult feeding guidelines can be followed. Pregnant queens will need approximately 30-50% more calories during the 2 months of gestation, and during lactation will require approximately double the adult recommendations. Talk to your veterinarian about the appropriate amount of calories based on your cat’s unique lifestyle.
